ABOUT US
The Research Unit aims to become a centre of excellence in research on Islam and contemporary issues. It focuses in particular on selected areas of research including Islamic law, Islamic banking and finance law and economics such as halal industry and waqf laws.
The research unit will be known as a place for inquiry and innovation designed to encourage ongoing critical dialogue and action regarding Shariah Laws and Islamic banking and finance law including halal industry and waqf. In pursuing this vision we will foster respect, reciprocity, relationships, and responsibility amongst all members of the University community especially the members of the research unit.

Cocuriculum Vitae
It is hoped that this Research Unit will become the leading research centre in Shariah Laws and Business Law. It is also hoped that this RU could contribute to the excellence of knowledge and research in the relevant field.
The research unit proposed four areas of research that highlighted the strength of members of the unit. This unit has established dedicated units that cater to the demands of the research and development (R&D) from different sectors within Shariah and Islamic Business industry.
The research unit consists of following clusters representing areas of research strength:
- Islamic Family Law
- Management of Islamic Property Law
- Islamic banking and finance law
- Halal Industry
Recently Dr Fauziah has involved consultation in the project of waqf term organized by Jabatan Wakaf, Zakat dan Haji (JAWHAR) and Kolej Profesional Baitul Mal, Kuala Lumpur. The project is for 4 months period.
Dr Fauziah has also involved in a project of reproductive and health education from Islamic perspective organized by United Nation Development Population (UNDP).
