Climate Change Law Research Unit (CLIMATE) is a research unit founded under the auspices of UUM School of Law, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) as part of the requirement under this Erasmus+ CBHE Project ID618874_CCP-Law.
CLIMATE supports the objectives of the Erasmus+ CBHE Project:
- To create a physical centre on climate change policy and law (CCP-Law);
- To develop, test and adapt new curricula in the field of CCP-Law;
- To integrate a multidisciplinary educational programme on Global Climate Change Policy and Law and address the need of a new generation of postgraduates in a LLM that will acquire a high-level expertise on environmental policies and Climate Change Law.
The Erasmus+ CBHE Project consists of an international consortium consisting of 2 higher education institutions (HEI) from Malaysia, two from Vietnam, two from India, one from United Kingdom, one from Spain and 2 research institutions from Greece.

Our Research Unit was established with the goal of promoting and advancing policies and laws that tackle the urgent issue of climate change. Our aim is to facilitate the School of Law of Universiti Utara Malaysia in offering and sustaining a Master of Law in Climate Change program, and other activities and initiatives related to climate change law and policy.
As we all know, climate change is one of the most pressing challenges of our time, and it is crucial that we work together to address it. CLIMATE is committed to collaborating with stakeholders from all sectors, including governments, civil society, academia, and the private sector, to achieve our shared goals.
We believe that our work can make a difference in creating a more sustainable and equitable world for all. Our team of experts is dedicated to producing high-quality research and analysis that informs policy decisions and contributes to the development of effective climate solutions.
