UUM MOOT TEAM CROWNED CHAMPION OF THE 17TH. INTERNATIONAL HUMAN LAW COURT COMPETITION 2020 NATIONAL ROUND

UUM ONLINE: Four students from the School of Law (SOL) did UUM proud when they were named the champion of the 17th. International Humanitarian Law Moot Court Competition 2020 National Round recently.

The team that comprised Ms Ashwaty Ashley, Ms Lau Jeng Chee, Ms Divyaanjali Loganathan and Ms Dayana Batrisya Mohamed Nasir participated in the online competition. All four of them were under the guidance of UUM Law alumni, Mr Joshua Teh Honguan.

The victory was made even sweeter for UUM because the Moot Team won the competition for the second time in a row. They will represent Malaysia to the Asia Pacific level in 2021.

In addition, the Best Mooter Award was awarded to Ms Ashwaty Ashley, a fellow student of the UUM School of Law.

In recognition of the success of the UUM Moot Team, the School of Law honoured the team by organising the Appreciation Ceremony: 17th International Humanitarian Law Moot Court Competition 2020 National Round virtually.

Second place went to the team from University of Malaya. A total of 10 universities took part in this competition which was hosted by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM).
