UUM ONLINE: The Former Chief Justice of Malaysia, Tan Sri Richard Malanjum shared his experience in the Malaysian law and judiciary system at the Professional Practice Workshop held recently.

The Workshop organised by the School of Law (SoL) attracted scores of final year students of the Bachelor of Law programme. The workshop was aimed at providing these students with the much needed exposure and knowledge about career in the field of law.

Tan Sri Richard Malanjum, who is also the Adjunct Professor of SoL, deliberated on various topics namely Ethics & Legal Profession, Powers and Jurisdiction of the Federal Court, Oral and Written Submission to the Court and Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Throughout the workshop, the students found the knowledge and experience shared by the Chief Justice to be exhilarating.

In addition, there was also a spontaneous question-and-answer session which enabled the management of SoL to brief students on the workings of a law firm and talk about the UUM Legal Aid Centre (PBG).

At the event, Tan Sri Richard Malanjum also provided practical suggestions and inputs to SoL to better mobilize law firms and UUM’s very own PBG.
